Description: The Mediation Committee works to educate elder law and special needs attorneys about mediation, its benefits and enhancement to their practices, and their role in mediation as an advocate for their clients. Our Committee strives to to educate the consumer about mediation and its benefits in resolution of elder care, estate contests and special needs contests, prior to or during a court proceeding, and hopes to implement a state-wide local judicial initiative introducing mediation in contested probate and guardianship proceedings under MHL Article 81, SCPA 17 and SCPA 17A.
