The Petroleum Spills Committee is for lawyers whose practice or interest involves petroleum spills, New York State Navigation Law Article 12, effects of petroleum contamination on real property, petroleum bulk storage systems, and petroleum remediation and/or testing. The Committee’s focus is to serve as a forum for the exchange of knowledge and ideas who have a significant practice in the area of petroleum spills, and to educate lawyers and non-lawyers who do not generally practice in this area about how to discern and address laws and regulations that may impact a client’s interest. The Committee’s primary objective is to organize and plan its annual Oil Spill Symposium, where we provide a half day of lively interactive round table discussions on numerous topics, including the annual Oil Spill Fund Update from the State Comptroller’s Office and the annual Oil Spill Act Case Law Update.
