“LawHUB™” will be unveiled to Association members at Annual Meeting at its 139th Annual Meeting, the New York State Bar Association today unveiled phase one of a new, web-based application called LawHUB™, which streamlines all of its legal content, research, and practice management tools onto members’ smartphones, tablets and computers.

The State Bar Association is the first bar association to build its own comprehensive online dashboard for its members’ law practices. The product is the result of a partnership between the Association and USI, the international insurance company specializing in risk management and employee benefits. The Association also teamed up with national legal practice management experts CuroLegal to design and develop the mobile-friendly platform.

LawHUB™, aimed specifically at New York attorneys and law students, is free to Association members. It is designed to help members save time, increase practice efficiency, and make it easier to connect, network and make referrals throughout the legal community.

“LawHUB™ sets the New York State Bar Association apart from our peers around the nation in the resources we can offer our members to help them better manage their practices and serve their clients,” said Association President David P. Miranda. “This platform is a game changer in the way it harnesses technology, streamlines the flow of information and simplifies our daily professional lives.”

The State Bar Association and its 74,000 members create volumes of substantive legal content each year—reports, continuing legal education (CLE) programs, section publications, forms, video content, CasePrep Plus, ethics opinions, and Association publications and discussion posts among wide-ranging online communities. With LawHUB™, members have the option to receive only the curated content pertinent to their own legal specialties, interests and practices. They also can individually customize their interface with LawHUB™, personalizing how information appears on their screens.

In addition to letting members select Association content, LawHUB™ integrates legal technology and productivity tools, including FastCase for free legal research, Clio for practice management, LawPay for payment processing and Google Calendar for scheduling. Other vendors will be added in the future.

This first version of LawHUB™ has been tested and improved through the feedback of attorney beta users since October of last year. The State Bar Association will continue to add information and functionality to the new platform. Planned enhancements include an improved CLE tracker, third-party technology integrations, and more content and multimedia options.

The 74,000-member New York State Bar Association is the largest voluntary state bar association in the nation. It was founded in 1876.
