Lawyer Referral Service
Need to find an attorney to take on your case? Our Lawyer Referral and Information Service (LRIS) team is here to help. When you call LRIS, you will be asked what county you are calling from and where in New York you would like to consult with an attorney. From there, the LRIS staff will ask you to describe your problem and will guide you towards the right resource for your situation, all under the strictest confidence.
Pro Bono Services
On April 11, 2020, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced the Pro Bono Network, a partnership between the New York State Bar Association and the New York State Court system. Our collective goal involves connecting volunteer attorneys with New Yorkers in order to handle a surge in legal matters resulting from the coronavirus pandemic and ensuing economic fallout. The initial rollout will focus on assisting members of the public with the unemployment insurance claim process but will be expanded to cover other areas of need in the near future.

Law, Youth and Citizenship
The Law, Youth and Citizenship (LYC) Program promotes citizenship and law-related education in schools throughout New York State. LYC assists educators in teaching ethics, civility, and professionalism through summer institutes, enrichment programs, Mock trial, and more.
