New York State Bar Association President Michael Miller issued the following statement today regarding the passing of the Hon. Richard A. Brown, Queens district attorney and former state Supreme Court judge.

“The Hon. Richard A. Brown was the consummate public servant, devoting nearly 50 years of his extraordinary career to the pursuit of justice as a highly respected jurist and prosecutor. A longtime NYSBA member, Brown was honored in 2000 with the Criminal
Justice Section’s Outstanding Prosecutor Award and in 1988 with the Section’s Vincent E. Doyle, Jr. Award for Outstanding Judicial Contribution in the Criminal Justice System. On behalf of the State Bar, I extend sincere condolences to his family and
friends. He will be missed.”
