As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, state and federal courts have been faced with challenges in moving cases along. However, these challenges have given rise to opportunities and innovations which have allowed the judicial system to adapt and move forward in unpredictable times.

This panel will present a comparative analysis of practice in the Delaware Chancery Court and the New York State Commercial Division, with an emphasis on preliminary injunctions and temporary restraining orders. The objective of this panel is to educate practitioners regarding the similarities and differences with regard to preliminary injunctions and temporary restraining orders in Delaware Chancery Court and the New York State Commercial Division.

Legal and Regulatory Challenges for the City of New York – Conversation with Brendan McGuire, Chief Counsel to Mayor Eric Adams
Former Section Chair and former NYSBA President Stephen Younger will interview the Chief Counsel to Mayor Eric Adams and their conversation will address the economic future of New York City, the challenges faced by reopening NYC, his views on why New York City and New York State has become the preferred forum for complex business disputes, and pro bono opportunities for attorneys to assist the Mayor’s Office.
