This is the first of a series of webinars addressing issues in long-term care, and particularly what has led to the disastrous impact of COVID-19 and what reforms are needed. This CLE will lay out the fundamentals of the nursing home industry: its legal structure, oversight, funding and ownership, and the realities of enforcement. The presenters will discuss issues with staffing, infection and quality control, profit vs. non-profit ownership, and the debates over liability and immunity that have become so heightened during the COVID-19 pandemic.
